About 状元 Ace Hot Pot

Why "状元"?
In imperial China, the 状元 (zhuàngyuán) was the scholar who came first in the national exams. The very best. That's where the "Ace" comes from.
Our full name, 状元麻辣府, means "the Ace's house of ma la". Either side of the logo are two more characters: 鲜 (xiān), fresh, and 香 (xiāng), fragrant. That's what we want every bowl to be.
The scholar on our wall, our menus and our logo is wearing the red robe and winged hat a 状元 would have worn. He's holding a chilli, because this is Sichuan food.
